Go shopping at Al Wakrah Souq
Souqs are abundant in Qatar, where you can buy local products for your use or as a present back home. In Al Wakrah, you can find a lovely souq near the beachfront. It features traditional architecture, allowing visitors to imagine the souq as it looked like in the olden days. In this souq, you can buy not only trinkets but also get some snacks and coffee. After you have had your fill, you can walk along the promenade and see the beach.
Most travel guides advise that you visit the souq in the afternoon so that the temperature is colder.
Visit the Beach
The Al Wakrah Municipality Family Beach is another perfect destination if you want to have a fun day with your family. While the beach is shallow, you can splash around in the water but are advised not to swim. However, you can use the barbecue facilities or let the children play in the playground. Even older children can enjoy the day at the beach by playing volleyball or football.
