Visit Any of These Destinations to Beat the Summer Heat in Qatar

For most of us working in the Middle East, the heat brought about the summer season is always challenging. For one, it can get uncomfortable to get out of your apartment but you still need to go to work. On the other hand, if you prefer to stay at home and put the air conditioner on full blast, you end up with a higher electricity bill at the end of the month.

Just because it’s summer, it should not mean that you will stay inside the house until it’s over. Fortunately, there are places in Doha where you can visit despite the summer heat. If you have not made up your plans yet, we recommend starting with any of these destinations.

Qur’anic Botanic Garden

One of the places you can visit is the Education City. Once you are there, you can go to the Qur’anic Botanic Garden. The secluded park showcases Islamic art and architecture, and it also features plants mentioned in the Holy Quran. If the summer heat stresses you out, the chirping birds and the sound of flowing water will surely calm you.

Oxygen Park

The Oxygen Park is another destination in Education City that you can visit. What sets this park apart is the air-conditioned pathways so you can jog comfortably anytime of the day. Think about it, you can do those cardio exercises and still beat the heat at the same time.

Getting to Education City is convenient since you can take the Doha Metro. Just take the green line and alight at the Education City Metro Station.

Msheireb Downtown

With carefully planned architecture, any structure can be breezy despite the heat. One case in point is Msheireb Downtown, with its walkways, roads, and garden carefully planned to ensure that the area remains cool and breezy. Once you are inside this area, you will notice that it is naturally cool even if you are indoors.

Getting around Msheireb Downtown can be done by foot. On the other hand, you can also take the tram to allow you to explore the whole place in style.

There are many options to get to Msheireb Downtown. If you choose to drive, parking won’t be a problem as Msheireb Downtown has a vast underground parking facility.

Another option is the Doha Metro. Your stop would be the Msheireb Metro Station. It is easy to know that you are there since it is the largest metro station in Qatar. It is also very convenient for anyone travelling there since it is where the Red, Gold, and Green lines meet.

Tornado Dune Plaza

Right in the heart of Doha’s West Bay sits Tornado Dune Plaza, a brand new shopping complex that’s worth checking out. Explore the shops and restaurants, or simply enjoy the free Wi-Fi.

Tornado Dune Plaza has plenty of parking spaces, making it convenient whether you visit with coworkers or friends. If you prefer to use the Doha Metro Station, it is also convenient since it is a short walk away.

These are just some of the places you can visit even if it’s scorching hot outside. When you go outside, you should also remember to rehydrate and wear sunscreen.
