The platform accepts complaints from private-sector workers and domestic workers and can be accessed through modern browsers and smartphones.
What Problems Can Workers Report?
A worker may consider filing a complaint when an employer does not follow the employment contract or Qatar Labor Law.
Common examples include unpaid wages, non-payment of benefits, contract disputes, or termination issues.
The Ministry also allows residents to report general labor-law violations through the same unified platform.
How to File a Labor Complaint
Workers should prepare their Qatar ID, employment details, employer information, contract, salary records, and any proof related to the complaint.
They can then submit the case through the Ministry of Labor’s digital complaint system.
The Ministry also provides other complaint channels, including its 24/7 hotline at 16008 and the Amerni mobile app. The hotline offers Arabic and English support, with translators available for other languages.
What Happens After You File?
The Ministry may first try to resolve the dispute between the worker and employer.
If the issue cannot be settled, the case may be referred to a Labor Dispute Settlement Committee for further action.
The Ministry says interpreters are available at these committees at no cost to workers. Workers may also seek legal guidance from an expert at the Labor Relations Department during official working hours.
Domestic Workers Can Also File a Complaint
Domestic workers are covered by Qatar’s complaint mechanisms.
The Ministry specifically says the unified complaint platform, hotline, smart applications, and Amerni app are available to help domestic workers report problems and seek assistance.
What OFWs Should Do
Filipino workers should keep copies of their contract, salary records, messages, and other documents that may support their case.
For labor disputes, use the Ministry of Labor’s official channels first. OFWs who also need Philippine government assistance may separately contact the Migrant Workers Office or Philippine Embassy in Doha.
