The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) said that foreigners as well as Filipinos who were deported by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to work are not given permission to enter another GCC country.
These are based on workers who have run away from their sponsors/employers or those workers that have a court ruling due to a violation of labour laws.
For your reference, the countries that belong to the GCC are: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
Banned Overseas Workers Not Allowed to Enter Other GCC Country
The Ministry of Interior has issued a circular is in accordance with the resolutions of the Secretary-General of the GCC and the activation of the security link among GCC countries that any violator of labor regulations in one of the GCC countries will be treated as a violator in the other five countries.
In order to make the labor market stable, the GCC hoped that this will lessen any circumstance of workers who flee.
POEA Chief said that foreign workers who were involved in criminal offenses are not allowed to enter other GCC countries since this was an existing agreement.
