Qatar Hospital’s Restaurants will stop Selling Unhealthy Food

In order to establish a healthy lifestyle in the country, the Ministry of Public Health has distributed guidelines to help the society determine the right choice of food. And to do this, junk foods from restaurants inside public hospitals will be banned.

Dr. Sheikha Al Anoud bint Mohamed Al Thani (Health Protection and Non-communicable Diseases Director) said “The ministry is currently working on a plan to make it compulsory for public hospitals to sell only healthy food at their cafeterias and vending machines.” at the ministry during a press conference about GCC Health Awareness week.

She added, “We are also having discussions with nutritionists and dietitians to decide what types of healthy food can be sold (at such outlets).”
