Qatar Airways Launches Davao-Doha Route

Qatar Airways will open a new Doha-Davao flight route this June 18, 2019. Right now, the ticket price is set at $750, which is currently equal to somewhere around Php 39,000.

The flight will be available once weekly, as Qatar Airways joins three other international airline carriers to enter Davao; the three others being SilkAir, Cathay Dragon, and Xiamen Air.

New Qatar Airways Route Connects Davao and Doha

1. All About Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways is Qatar’s national airlines. It is considered one of the best airlines in the whole world, and its story is celebrated for it started with the humblest of beginnings. The airlines is led by His Excellency Mr. Akba Al Baker, appointed by the government back in 1997. Among its accolades include Skytrax’s Airline of the Year in 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, and just recently, 2019.

2. Doha a Springboard for More Destinations

According to a spokesperson for Qatar Airways, this new route gives another pathway from the Philippines to Doha, Qatar, which serves as a spring board for other destinations around the world. These include certain places in Africa, the Middle East, Europe and even in the United States.

3. Constantly Adding New Routes

Last May, Qatar Airways added three new routes from other countries around the world. These include Rabat, the capital city of Morocco, Malta, and Izmir, Turkey. The Rabat-Doha route was launched last May 29, and is open three times a week. Meanwhile, the one in Malta opened last May 23, and has flights to Doha on a daily basis.

4. Future New Routes for Qatar Airways

During the ITB trade fair held at Berlin, Qatar Airways announced seven new destinations which will open in the next few months. These include Lisbon, Portugal in June 24, Davao, which was also announced at the trade fair, Izmir and Malta, Rabat, Mogadishu the capital of Somalia, and Langkawi, Malaysia. The Somalian flight will begin in July, using AirBus A320s. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft will be showcased in Malaysia as Qatar Airways opens a new Langkawi route this October 2019.

5. Other Airports in the Philippines

Qatar Airways has departures in other airports in the Philippines. Particularly, it has several flights to and from the capital city of Manila via the NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport). Also, six years ago in 2013, Qatar Airways opened a route going to Clark International Airport in Pampanga.
