If You Want to Get Rich, Avoid These Traits
We aspire to get a job abroad so that we can improve our lives as well as the lives of our loved ones. But when you notice that you don’t seem to be getting anywhere despite working abroad for a long time, then you need to assess yourself and work on it.
Let’s look at this YouTube video of Pinoy Nomads. Our vlogger shares some valuable lessons on why some of us don’t seem to improve our lot. Here are the five traits to look out for:
1. Wrong Mindset
According to our vlogger, what you imagine in your head is what will happen in real life. Thus, you need to let go of your “poor person” mentality. Instead, you should adopt a wealthy mindset. In the same manner, you should grab every opportunity that comes your way.
Your job abroad opens you to a lot of opportunity, and you should use it to your advantage. But it is also important to have good intentions when you use these opportunities.
2. Envious of Others
Some people tend to be envious of what others have. It is not good to be envious of others, because you don’t know their whole story. You might see them having the latest gadgets or having a bigger house, but they could be struggling to pay their debts. You should stop being envious of your neighbor; instead, you should be genuinely happy for them.
3. Pride
Our vlogger believes being boastful will lead to your downfall. It would be better if you remain grounded and humble even if you have improved your status in life. Instead of wasting your money to show off to others, you could invest it and reap the rewards later. It is also not a good idea to show off.
4. Materialistic
If you happen to work in a country that is highly materialistic, it would be easy to adapt to the culture. You might find yourself charging everything you see on your credit card. So why not stop spending for a while and think about how you would pay for these.
It is also not wise to convert the foreign currency to the Philippine peso since it has a higher value. Unfortunately, you will not spend Philippine pesos in your host country, so you don’t have that much money to begin with.
5. Selfish
Your work abroad allows you to support your family financially. It is also a good idea to assist other family members and to share your blessings with them. However, you need to be discerning about who you help. Don’t allow your family members to abuse your generosity.
