Beginning July 23, 2017, OFWs in Qatar who need to verify their employment contracts with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) can request an appointment online. This system aims to eliminate overcrowding and long waiting period of those concerned. Clients will no longer have to go to POLO early just to get a number.
On July 30, 2017, the Labor Office will prioritize accepting the applications of those who have set up an online appointment. The employment contract is an important document for Filipino workers for some of their transactions in the Philippines.
Online Appointment System for Employment Contracts to be Offered Soon
Filipino workers who are applying for verification of their individual employment contracts will have to do it online, starting on July 23, 2017. They can set an appointment at www.polodoha.com.ph, then go to Services, then click Online Appointment Booking. Fill up the Electronic Application Form and choose a selected date and time of appointment with POLO. Take note that appointment dates are from Sundays to Thurdays only. The worker will receive confirmation of appointment through email. A printed copy of this confirmation of appointment will be presented to POLO on the assigned date and time.
This online appointment system is different from the Balik-Manggagawa (or BM-Online System for issuance and registration of OECs). POLO also reminds its Filipino clients that the procedure for OEC issuance remains the same until the new guidelines for I-Dole or DOLE Identification Card for OFWs are implemented.
