If you like traveling to go somewhere new, why not include Lusail City to your itinerary? It is about 24 minutes drive from Doha. You can take your car, or you can use public transportation. The tram system within Lusail will also connect you to other parts of the city.
Here are the things you can see in Lusail:
- Lusail Marina – the calming blue waters in the Marina would be the first thing you will see once you get there. Along the walkway, you can also see the yachts and further still is the Doha skyline. You can also bring your running shoes and other gear since the Marina promenade is conducive for walking and jogging.
It is also best to visit during nighttime, so you can see the Lights Exhibit. You can pass through a tunnel of lights, or you can watch a water fountain that changes colors.
You can also head over to the food center when you want to take a rest from all the walking you did.
2. Lusail Stadium – this is where the opening and closing ceremonies will be held of the upcoming 2022 World Cup. It can seat 80,000 fans. The stadium design is inspired by the fanar lamp. During the nighttime, the Lusail Stadium also shows a display of lights.
3. Crescent Park– one of the newest public parks in Qatar. Aside from the play areas, it also has bike tracks and jogging tracks. There are football, basketball and beach volleyball facilities. There are also garden facilities if you want to relax. Or you can head over to the restaurants.
4. Unique buildings– several buildings are still being constructed in Lusail. One of them is the Place Vendome Mall, which will be home to several shopping centers. Place Vendome has a European design and faces the sea.
The next one is the Marina Twin Towers, with its uneven stack of cubes and in different colors. This is similar to another building near Lagoona Mall. Another one is the Katara Towers, with its cross-sword design.
And did I mention that all these sights are IG-worthy? You can surely add an entry or two in your post after your Lusail trip.
