How to Check Your Qatar ID (QID) Status and Expiry Online

If you want to check whether your Qatar ID is still valid, the easiest way is through the Ministry of Interior’s online inquiry tools.

The MOI’s Other Inquiries section includes an Official Documents service that lets users check expiry dates for official documents, including the ID card and residence permit. The page allows searches either by QID number or by passport number, with nationality, date of birth, and a verification code.

How to Check Your QID Status and Expiry Online

Use the MOI Official Documents Page

Go to the MOI inquiry portal and open Other Inquiries, then select Official Documents.

From there, you can choose one of two options.

The first option is to search using your QID number.

The second option is to search using your passport number, then choose your nationality and enter your date of birth.

After entering the verification code, click Search to view the result.

What You Can Check There

This MOI service is meant for checking the expiry of official documents.

According to the MOI, the Other Inquiries service can be used to inquire about expiry dates of the ID card, passport, residence permit, and driving licence.

That makes it useful before travel, renewal, job transfer, or any transaction where your QID validity may be asked for.

How to Check Renewal Progress

If you already applied for renewal and want to know if it is moving, the MOI also has a separate RP Renewal Tracking page.

That page asks only for your QID number and the verification code.

If your residence permit application is still in process and you want to track the original application, the RP Application Tracking & Printing page can also be used.

For that tool, the MOI asks for the visa number and the ID number of the sponsor, representative, or authorized signatory, plus the verification code.

Another Option for Mobile Users

Residents can also use the official Metrash app from the Ministry of Interior.

The app is published by Ministry of Interior – Qatar and offers access to more than 400 services, including viewing official documents through mobile devices.
