A relatively recent law in Qatar has ordered all its expats and Qataris 18 years old and above to register their national address. The registration opened last January 27, 2020 and has a deadline of July 26, 2020.

If you haven’t registered yet, you must do so immediately. There are hefty fines for not registering on time (QAR 5,000) and providing false information (QAR 10,000). If you want to know the easiest way to register your national address, then this article is for you.

How to Register Your National Address in Metrash 2

    1. Download Metrash 2.
    2. Login to Metrash.
    3. Click National Address.
    4. Click Register National Address.
    5. Fill out the information needed.
    6. Click next and submit.
    7. There will be a pop up window. Just click continue.
    8. Then another pop up. Click updated.
    9. You will automatically be sent to a screen showing the information you put in earlier.
    10. Lastly, you will be receiving a text message on your phone just confirming all the information you provided on the registration.

Look for the blue plate outside your house and you will find all the information you need. These information are:

    • Zone number
    • Street number
    • Building number
    • PO box number
    • Kahramaa number (your electricity number)
    • Telephone number
    • Mobile number
    • Email address
    • Outside address (home country address) not compulsory

According to a government-sponsored seminar on the national address registration, in just 5 days already more than 250,000 people have registered.

How about those 18 years old and below?

For expats and Qataris 18 years old and above: they must register individually

For those below 18 years old: they must be registered by their father or mother depending on sponsorship

For those above 80 years old: they must be registered under their children. They need to provide medical documentation and register in the service center.
